What is Casa?

Casa comes from the Italian term Casa dei Bambini, meaning “Children’s House.” It is the core Montessori environment designed for children aged 3–6 years.

In a Casa classroom, children learn in a calm, mixed-age setting that supports independence, concentration, and self-discipline. Learning happens through hands-on materials and purposeful activity, allowing each child to progress at their own pace.

Key Features of a Casa Environment

Children refine practical life skills, explore sensorial materials, and develop spoken language. They progress into phonics, reading readiness, and early math concepts, while also learning through nature, festivals, and geography. By the end of CASA, children gain confidence, independence, and readiness for primary schooling.
